Goddammit, how does he do it? Feels like every time Grey Reverend opens his mouth to sing, I tear up a little. If you don't get a little verklempt when the music swells just after the two-minute mark, I think you're a replicant.

Woodpigeon - "Faithful"

Woodpigeon has a new album coming out April 1st (no fooling!) and has just released the single "Faithful" on Bandcamp today (see below). The tags accompanying it there list include both "jubilation" and "misery," which is weirdly accurate. Mark Andrew Hamilton has a way of making sad things sound pretty and lovely things sound morose. It's quite a feat. Enjoy - inasmuch as that's possible...

Rina Sawayama - "Where U Are"

I used to have the biggest musical crush on Jody Watley, Jasmine Guy and Lisa Stansfield. Had "Where U Are" come out in 1991, Rina Sawayama's picture would have been cut out of a music mag and taped to my wall and I would have played the cassingle on my walkman. Playing it on loop on Soundcloud will have to do.
